What Does It Mean to Live by Faith? (The Real Truth Defined – Part 2)
Gives Me Assurance that if I Trust Him, I Can Be Like Him
2 Corinthians 3:18 NLT
So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord–who is the Spirit–makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NLT
23 Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 24 God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.
This is such good news!
Drive into God’s Presence
Psalm 119:10 NLT
10 I have tried hard to find you—
This gives me shivers. It focuses me—makes me intent on the right thing in life…Him.
Matthew 7:14 NLT
14 But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.
John 14:6 NLT
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
This makes me want to cry out to God, “Save me!” I’m saved (spiritually), but in my flesh, there is another battle.
Distinguish the “good” and “bad” roads you take in life. Are we taking “bad” roads (without God) because we’re not in love with “good?”
Luke 16:13 NLT
“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
My Personal Case
Everything over the last few weeks has pointed to this truth. It’s not always about avoiding sin, but also running to God. Once I find out just how awesome and loving and kind God is, I will lose taste for anything less!
Psalm 42:1, 2 NLT
1 As the deer longs for streams of water,
so I long for you, O God.
2 I thirst for God, the living God.
When can I go and stand before him?
